The American Cider Association has designated Chile as the guest of honor at CiderCon 2025, the most important conference for cider industry professionals, set to take place from February 7 to 9 in Chicago, United States.
This recognition highlights Chile’s rich cider-making tradition, one of the oldest and most valued in the Southern Hemisphere.
Each year, this event gathers thousands of cider producers, distributors, buyers, and experts from over 15 countries and 40 U.S. states.
Over three days, attendees participate in talks, tastings, workshops, and activities designed to strengthen the global cider industry. This edition will focus on “The Sustainable Future of Cider: Planet, People, Profits.”
Chile will be represented by a delegation organized by the Colectivo Sidrero de Chile (COSICHI), featuring renowned producers and experts such as Harriet Nahrwold (Sidrería Quebrada de Chucao), René Galindo Quidel (Sidrería TenCai), and Gicella Thamar Saldivia González (Cooperativa Chilwe), among others.
In addition to participating in the panel titled “Exploring History, Flavor, and Terroir,” the Chilean delegation will share its vision of the future of cider from a sustainable and regional perspective.
Ciders with International Recognition
In recent years, the quality of Chilean cider has been recognized in various international competitions.

Similarly, Sidra TenCai earned a silver medal at the Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition in the United States, while Sidrería Punta de Fierro from the Los Ríos Region won a silver medal at GLINTCAP 2024, one of the world’s most prestigious competitions, reaffirming Chile’s reputation as an emerging high-quality cider producer.
